Case Study: Architecture Throughout History
Fall 2023
ARCH 505 | Iowa State University
Instructor: Peter Zuroweste
As the first seminar in the Master of Architecture I curriculum at ISU, this course offers an exciting introduction to the history and traditions of architecture and urbanism. It's designed to help us develop critical thinking and research skills while exploring how historical inquiry connects with contemporary practice. Throughout the course, we engage in interdisciplinary readings and discussions, reflecting on key themes and ideas. There are also workshops, student presentations, and research projects that allow us to dive deeper into architectural history, visual analysis, and various research methods. The emphasis on collaborative discourse encourages us to think creatively and critically, helping us connect what we learn to current architectural challenges.
